The story starts faster, than participants think.
After a short briefing the team find themselves in the wilderness (possibly they don’t even knoe to succeed.
At different starting points they get information on base points to reach. If they find these, they acquire additional resources (e.g. walkie-talkie, GPS, pieces of map, etc.). Exploiting these units they aw what challenges are awaiting them).
Their mission is to find the pieces and assemble the totem protecting the area. Evil forces have thrown them apart.
Several smaller detachments find out they have to cooperatre to meet at a point of forest. (Situation can be even more ‘dangerous’ if savages equipped with poisoned arrows are lurking in the woods. In this case adventurers also have opportunity to arm themselves.)
When the whole team merges they share entwined and incomplete information. Solving the ‘puzzle’ needs synchronized team work and leads to new challenges. These may be climbing or descending a rock wall, water crossing on self-made raft, or some construction game. Succeeding these they can gain pieces of the totem. The story is rolling continuously; if they make mistake they bear the consequences, if they make good decision, they can ease their progress. Brave responsibility, flawless team work, and creativity are necessary to assemble the totem.
